Frequently we are asked, "What should I do to extend and maintain the lifespan of my robot machine battery?"

Here are some pointers:

Manual Charging (K6,K6L, XR200/E1, ProVac K3, KRV205, SLV-801 Etc.)

  • Only charge the robot vacuum rechargeable battery with the provided compatible rating charger. Incompatible Charger may display charging light or display but battery will not store charge or very little charge.
  • Never charge the robotic vacuum longer than required. Average charging time is around 4-5 hours. Over-Charging will be detrimental to battery lifespan over time.
  • Never leave the robotic vacuum cleaner charging overnight. Over-charging is detrimental to battery lifespan. Frequently we noted customers leave the machine charging at night and only turn off in the morning.

Dock / Auto Charging (KK8, A7, MH-488, XR210 Series, XR510 Series, BL608, RC700, ExVac, F1 Etc.)

  • Only charge the robot vacuum rechargeable battery with the provided compatible rating charger. Incompatible Charger may display charging light or display but battery will not store charge or very little charge.
  • Do NOT manually carry your robot machine and place it on the dock if in the event it fails to return for charging. (Except for RC700) Some models will only get "partially charged" if user manually engage Robot Machine-Dock charging. Over time getting only partially charged will either mislead you battery life is short or contribute to shorter lifespan.
  • If robot machine fail to return for auto-charging, direct charge from charger ~15mins and use "Home" or "Charge" Mode on the machine or Remote Controller to direct robot machine to dock and charge by itself. Most models will only engage full charging if machine initiate charging by itself. (Exceptional for RC700)
  • If not using the robot machine daily (e.g. 3 days once), recommended to turn "Off" robot machine main power switch & charger. Even on standby the battery is using small amounts of charge and will get trickle charged by the dock.
  • If you wish to turn off the dock power, please turn "OFF" the robot machine main power switch too! Robot machine will be on standby when power "ON" and 2 - 3 days later battery charge will be drained.

Other General Care & Maintenence

  • Never leave the robotic vacuum cleaner without charge for extended periods of time (>1 month) This will cause the rechargeable battery to enter "slumber mode" and is detrimental to the battery life span. Recommended to charge the battery once per month if robot machine is kept in storage.
  • If you are not using the robotic vacuum cleaner for extended periods of time, remove the rechargeable battery from the machine. Disconnecting rechargeable battery from robot machine will avoid terminal corrosion (XR210 Series Old Variant) or charge drain if power switch not turned "OFF".
  • Always clear the dustbin & clean your filter parts regularly to enable optimum suction power. Clogged dustbin will reduce air flow and cause the suction motor to draw more power draining battery quicker.
  • Always clear moving parts of hair to enable smooth movement. Less friction equals to less power required. Drag & friction will cause motor parts to draw more power to move/rotate causing battery to drain quicker.
